Fiber-reinforced polymer composites provide superior ballistic protection at considerably less weight than comparable steel or concrete panels. Leverage this unique composite matrix and our custom capabilities for complete retention of projectiles in a variety of protective structural applications.
From interior walls for saferooms to military shelters that can withstand extreme conditions, our portfolios of both thermoset and thermoplastic ballistic and bullet-resistant panels are developed to provide consistent, reliable ballistic protection for virtually any environment. Our thermoset solution, GlasArmor™ panels, are constructed with layers of woven E-glass fiber and a proprietary resin system via continuous pultrusion. ThermoBallistic™ thermoplastic panels are constructed with multiaxial layers of unidirectional E-glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastics via compression molding. All our panels are designed to retain projectiles and fragments at less weight than incumbent materials, with the additional benefits of corrosion resistance and electrical non-conductivity. Avient’s custom manufacturing and design capabilities allow us to assist you through all phases of development, from design to installation. Our team can work with you on customizing design specifications, including drilling, routing, machining, finishing, color, and panel size.
Avient manufactures ballistic composite panels in Englewood, Colorado, and Birmingham, Alabama, in accordance with UL 752 specifications for ballistic resistance.
